For nearly 80 years the British Valve & Actuator Association (BVAA) has been the Industry voice representing UK Valve manufacturers, core supply chain partners and distributor organisations to the end users across the globe. With over 200 members the Association has grown to be one of the largest representative bodies in the UK and plays an important role in developing engineering standards in the Industry.
In November 2017, at the BVAA Annual General Meeting, Severn Glocon Group Director, Colin Findlay, took up the Chairman’s role for the next 3 years. The role of the Chairman is to run the Supervisory Board made up of 10 Directors who represent the members, and also lead the activity of the Association ensuring that it provides value to its members and is active in representing the valve industry where necessary.
On his appointment, Colin said “It a great Honour to be elected to the Chairman’s post. As a Board member for the past 4 years, I have seen the value that the BVAA brings to its members, through market intelligence, training, exhibition opportunities and technical support. In particular, the BVAA links the larger manufacturing members to the supply networks who specialise in valve expertise. I am particularly proud of the success of the ‘Future Leaders’ programme that I introduced to provide a network and development framework for the very best people that the industry has to offer. I am looking forward to continuing the successful work of the BVAA team.”
